With over 550 students, GIBS wanted to find an efficient way to reduce its water use.

The school’s existing toilets were relatively old and had large flush volumes.

So 13 Propelair toilets were installed as a proof of concept to lower water usage across campus.

The Propelair units are now in use in the school’s main reception area, which has the highest footfall on campus. They have been a success with the students, and have saved the school water, energy and money – paying back in just 2.8 years.

GIBS reduced its water use by 86% and 2.5 million litres!

Environmental

  • 13 Propelair toilets have led to an 86% water saving
  • 2,410,000 litres of water will be saved annually

Financial

  • R120,412.50 will be saved in water bills annually (approx. £5,900)
  • The school is now lowering its bills so much that the toilets will have paid for themselves in just 2.8 years
