FAQs
The lid must be sealed properly in order for the toilet to work as intended. There is currently no soft-close option available.
The current concealed cistern design is engineered for high footfall areas, including customers across the healthcare, manufacturing, retail, education, transport, commercial and industrial markets.
Extensive tests, at different flush volumes, has proven that 1.35 litres of water is sufficient for a clean flush.
No, a Propelair toilet does not increase the risk of blocked drains. Extensive tests by independent, accredited organisations have proven 1.35 litres of waters to be a suitable minimum flush volume, even in high use facilities.
Blockages can be dealt with in the same manner as a traditional toilet blockage. Conventional plungers or rods can be used by your plumbing contractor. The Propelair OneThreeFive version can be manipulated through a simple series of latch movements to trigger a dry flush, powered by pressurized air to potentially unblock drains, swiftly restoring optimal performance and eliminating public washroom inconvenience.
The toilet connects to the main water supply and discharges waste into a standard drainage system of 110mm but also offers flexibility by being able to discharge into a 50mm drainage system.
Propelair offers a 12-month warrantee, based on normal usage and installation by a certified partner. Normal conditions exclude damage due to power losses, serious drain blockages, and physical abuse.
Propelair’s rimless pan and side hinges make previously hard-to-clean areas easily accessible, ensuring that a high level of cleaning can be maintained. The unit can be cleaned with water and soap. A cleaning manual is available for training purposes. Please contact us to obtain your cleaning manual.
Due to the required site assessment and warranty conditions only Propelair recommended and trained installers are permitted to install the product. We have local installers within every region that we operate in. Please contact us for a comprehensive spec sheet and installation guide.
The Propelair toilet uses a 24V control module, an air pump, and a water pump, to achieve the required water savings. Propelair offers flexibility in power sources. The need for a 24V battery is eliminated when opting for a live feed from the toilet unit directly to the electricity mains. However, the 24V battery option is available for specific applications. The electrically connected version consumes a mere 0.33Wh of electricity per flush.
Yes. The Propelair toilet has been tested to and complies with BE EN 60335 parts 1 and parts 2-84
Propelair OneThreeFive can be fitted with a 24V backup battery that supports up to 80 flushes, every three minutes, for four consecutive hours before requiring a 2-hour recharge, making it ideal for electricity-stressed areas. All Propelair 1.5-liter toilets are fitted with a backup battery.
Minimal electricity use is offset by significant water savings. The electrically connected version consumes a mere 0.33Wh of electricity per flush.
Equipped with a smart IoT-connected system, the toilet’s control unit provides feedback to service engineers through data transmission, streamlining maintenance and reducing downtime.
IoT is available for new installations but can also be retrofitted, allowing our existing and new customers to benefit from accurate and real-time maintenance diagnostic alerts.
Efficient resource management is crucial. The Propelair Asset Tracking QR code system offers real-time call logging, assists with maintenance scheduling to optimize resource allocation, asset history log to store information in one easily accessible place, instant alerts for maintenance needs, cleanliness concerns and warranty expiry dates and customizable reporting on performance analysis and call out frequency.
The Propelair OneThreeFive offers triple protection for users. It incorporates Polygiene BioMaster additives in frequently touched areas like the latch, seat, lid, and seal to prevent germ growth. The close-to-flush technology minimizes the spread of germs by preventing the “sneeze effect.“ A powerful single flush eliminates 99.9% of contaminants in just 1.5 seconds, surpassing conventional toilets which leave up to 6% of previous users’ contaminants.
Intellectual property
Propelair currently holds an excess of 85 patents, grouped into 4 families, across product components and 18 countries. These patents protect our innovation in terms of components, how the use of natural resources is combined to drive our technology as well as the assembly and method of flush. In addition to the patents that protects our innovations, we also hold design rights and trademarks.

Heritage
Despite major advances in modern infrastructure, most washrooms still look and function much like they did in Victorian times. In the early 2000s, Propelair set out to change this by creating the world’s lowest-water-use toilet. Although the concept began over two decades ago, Propelair gained real momentum in 2017 after a pivotal “seeing-is-believing” trial. While evaluating a potential investment, Investec installed four Propelair toilets in one of their office buildings, where recurring blockages had been an issue. The results were immediate: more than 300,000 litres of water saved in the first year and significantly lower maintenance needs.
